Welcome
Dear Parents:
We believe
it is possible to share the love of God
through Jesus Christ with children of all
ages. One way we express this love is by
providing a place in the church where they
can begin to feel that they are a part of
the total church community. The love shown
by our teaching staff helps your children
feel that they are part of our church in a
place were they are loved and accepted.
Community Church of Portage Lakes is proud
of our Sunday School facilities and the
competent staff members who are so faithful
to serve. Community Kid’s programming is
provided for Sunday School, Worship services
and Wednesday nights. Child Care for
infants and school aged children is also
provided during the week for daytime and
evening church functions whenever it is
stated in the Cornerstone newsletter or
bulletin.

your job of raising your family and help you
provide a strong spiritual foundation for

Eight Objectives of CCPL's Community Kids
Sunday School
Children have the opportunity to discover
and respond to God’s truth and how it
relates to them at their age. This hour is
vital in the life of every child as it gives
them the foundation they need in every area
of their life. Newborns through ages 4 will
be given security tags to be returned to the
teacher upon child pickup. Ages 4-grade 5
Sunday School teachers will take their
classes to Kids Praise and Worship at 10:30
AM and leave them in the care of the Worship
Hour leaders.
Worship Hour
Incorporated in Kids Worship Hour will be
Kids Praise and Worship time. Ages 4
through grade 5 will meet in room G-11. There will be a teacher by the door to
welcome and sign your child in. Kids
Worship may already be in progress, but your
child can jump right in and participate. From 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM the children will
sing and learn about worship. These
children occasionally will share their gift
of music in the adult service. At 11:00 AM,
the Worship Hour teachers will pick up
their class and take them to their rooms.
Parents of children grade 3 and younger can
pick up their children in the individual
classrooms.
Wednesday Nights
We have a full kids program each Wednesday
night from 6:30 - 8:00 PM during the school
year. We have Pioneer Girls K-6th grade and
7-12th grades. For the boys there is Boys
Brigade K-6th grade and 7th through 12th
grade. Nursery and childcare available
through age 5 for those volunteering, in a
bible study or participating in choir.
Special Activities
Community Kids offers activities throughout
the year to supplement what the children
learn each week at CCPL. Children’s
Christmas Party, Vacation Bible School,
Kid’s Day Out (in the summer), Trunk or
Treat are a few of those programs.
