SUNDAY SCHOOL
MINISTRY:
Community Church has a dynamic Sunday
School
ministry that ministers to everyone, from
infants through adults.
Classes are led by capable members of
the church, using Biblically-based materials
(Gospel Light Curriculum is used for the
children and youth divisions), and provide
care and fellowship to all who attend.
We have ten adult classes that
provide for a wide range of age and interests.
These classes meet regularly every
Sunday morning at 9:30 AM .
(Please refer to the class listing on
this site for the names of each class, the
age-range, and room location.)
MUSIC
AND WORSHIP MINISTRY:
"Let us come before Him with thanksgiving
and extol Him with music and song." ...
Psalm 95:2
Worship...the
celebration of God and how we declare His
worth. It doesn't just happen! We come with
expectation, seeking the Lord (Jeremiah
29:13); we come with personal preparation,
giving the Lord the glory due His Name
(Psalm 29:2); we come with participation,
involved with songs of praise, prayer,
confession and instruction from the Word of
God (Matthew 18:20); and we come with
anticipation, that we respond in spirit and
truth (John 4:23-24).
At CCPL we are
blessed by God with many whom He has given
gifts and talents to use and share with the
body of Christ, in our adoration, praise.
Under the direction of Pastor Mark Ohmit,
our adult choir, praise team, praise band,
and solo ministry provide ample
opportunities for involvement in worship
ministry.
You are invited
to become a vital part of our Worship
Ministry Team, whether in highly visible
roles or essential service
"behind-the-scenes", for "It is the Lord
Christ you are serving." (Colossians 3:24)
WOMEN’S
MINISTRY:
Women
of Worth
(WOW Ministries) is designed to relate to the
needs of busy Christian women.
It provides activities that will help
women CONNECT
to God, CULTIVATE
personal friendships, and CELEBRATE
who we are as women.
We strive to help each women make her
home, her community and her daily life an
important extension of God’s kingdom.
Through small groups and special events we offer opportunity
for personal enrichment and growth in Christ.
We welcome you to join your sisters in
Christ as we minister and grow together.
BROTHER
TO BROTHER: This
is a ministry that offers support to our
men and encourages them in their walk with God.
It plans and promotes a monthly Men’s
Fellowship Breakfast
(Sept. - May). Men are also
encouraged to attend conferences such as the
Moody Men’s Conference and Promise Keepers
each year.
CHILDREN’S
CLUBS:
CHRISTIAN
SERVICE BRIGADE:
This is a ministry of discipleship for
men working with boys and youth.
It promotes social fun, development of
practical skills and service, all built on a
foundation of Scriptural principles.
Stockade is for boys in grades 2-5 in
school and Battalion is for youth in grades
6-12. The various age groups meet weekly at
the church and also plan periodic outings and
activities in conjunction with other churches.
The
pinewood derby races, roller skating, wild
game dinners,
Klondike
competitions,
and Brigade Camp Rah
are a few of the special features of this
ministry. The boys are also encouraged to
attend summer camp at Stony Glen in Northeast
Ohio.
PIONEER GIRLS:
This is a ministry of
discipleship for women working with girls and
young women.
It promotes social fun and fellowship,
development of practical skills and service,
all built on a foundation of Scriptural
principles.
The various age groups ranging from 1st
grade through 12thgrade,
meet weekly at the church and also plan
supplemental outings and activities, such as
overnight campouts, roller skating, and
Birthday and Christmas parties. The girls are also encouraged

MINISTRY:

SPORTS
FELLOWSHIP: The church has sponsored or encouraged
participation in a men’s softball team,
men's and women's bowling teams, and has
periodic outings for golf or groups attending
stadium sporting events.
HOME BIBLE
FELLOWSHIPS: These neighborhood groups meet weekly
in a host home to participate in a Bible-based
discussion, prayer, and fellowship around
dessert.
Our Home Bible Fellowships give people a chance to
get to know others better and experience the
caring and support that only a small group can
provide. Each group is led by a Discussion
Facilitator.
They meet for on
Monday or Thursday nights, beginning in the
Fall and ending in Spring. Each
group breaks during Thanksgiving, Christmas,
and Easter weeks, but celebrates with
fellowship suppers periodically through the
year.
VISITATION: There is an active visitation program
at Community
Church
which
involves the staff and other key leaders. Member
and non-members alike receive regular visits
while hospitalized, in nursing facilities, and
in their homes.
Widows, widowers, and homebound people
are also sent cards and gifts periodically by
the Deaconesses. Guests and newer attendees are
contacted by phone and letter.
Sometimes
visits are coordinated so that several people
can meet together for fellowship in
someone’s home.
PRAYER
MINISTRY: We
consider prayer a priority and encourage all
groups, such as Home Bible Fellowships, Bible Study
Groups, Adult Bible Fellowships, etc. to include prayer as a part of
their time together. There is a ladies prayer
group that meets weekly to pray for the
needs of the church.
Also, the staff
prays each week for the needs of the
congregation and prays for individuals as
needed.
OUTREACH
MINISTRY: The entire church family is encouraged
to reach out in Christian love to others,
especially those who are unchurched. Outreach activities are planned in
order to provide a venue for this ministry. Some of those include:
Vacation Bible School, sporting
events, picnics, etc.
Many are also involved in projects
like: Collecting
items needed for the Pregnancy Solutions &
Services nearby, the Haven of Rest Ministries,
Operation Shoebox (Samaritan’s Purse), etc.
VACATION
BIBLE
SCHOOL
:
Community
Church
has
an exciting and well-attended V.B.S. during
the summer each year.
Children from pre-school through Junior
High are divided into age-mixed groups and go
to various stations to learn the gospel and
Scriptural principles.
Interesting, fun-filled activities
reinforce the truths presented, such as:
puppets, crafts, lively singing, games,
drama, and videos.
COMMUNITY
CHRISTIAN
PRE-SCHOOL:
The church sponsors a quality pre-school on
the campus that is aptly administrated by Mrs.
Debbie Allen.
She has a dedicated staff of Christian
teachers who strive to teach the children in
practical preparation for formal academic
classes. They also teach the children the
basics of the Christian faith by modeling
godly principles and correlating it with the
curriculum.
(For details regarding other
guidelines of the school, age-ranges, cost,
etc. please refer to the
Pre-School page on
this site. Thank you.)
